Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement

  • Dawn follows the international standards for responsible research publication for editors and authors laid down by COPE  (Committee on Publication Ethics). We acknowledge our indebtedness to the COPE website at
  •  Our editors take  fair and unbiased decisions independent from commercial considerations and ensure a fair and appropriate peer review process
  • We protect the confidentiality of authors’ material and remind reviewers to do so as well.  Our editors do not share submitted papers with editors of other journals.
  • We have laid out clear guidelines for our authors on what is expected of them.
  • We encourage reaction and response to published research by other researchers in the interests of scholarly debate.
  • Our decision to accept or reject a paper for publication is based on the paper’s   importance, originality and clarity, and the study’s validity and its relevance to the focus of our journal.
  • Editorial decisions are not affected by the origins of the manuscript, including the nationality, ethnicity, political beliefs, race, or religion of the authors. Decisions to edit and publish are also not determined by the policies of governments or other agencies outside of the journal itself.
  • We ensure that appropriate reviewers are selected for submissions (i.e. individuals who are competent to judge the work and are free from disqualifying competing interests). We also encourage  reviewers to comment on ethical questions;  on the originality of submissions and to be alert to redundant publication and plagiarism
  • We actively seek the views of authors, readers, reviewers and editorial board members about ways of improving our journal’s processes. Please email us at
